Prior to beginning any new rosacea treatment, one needs to prepare the skin, and allow the skin to heal from the effects of previous treatments which may have left the skin damaged or overly sensitive. We often hear people tell us that the rosacea treatments they had been using left their skin so sensitive that "even water hurts their skin".
We at Rosacea-Ltd have found that allowing the skin a healing period during which we recommend using only a gentle cleansing bar such as Cetaphil "gentle cleansing bar for dry sensitive skin" and following the cleansing with Jojoba Oil to soothe, calm and moisturize the skin that the skin is able to begin to repair itself from the harmful effects of lasers, acids, retinoids, etc.
Reducing the acidic nature of foods in your diet and balancing them with more alkaline based foods and water will also add in the healing of the skin. Simply increasing your water intake can reduce facial redness.
The best time to begin application of Rosacea-Ltd III is the early evening after thoroughly washing your face with Cetaphil "moisturizing gentle cleansing bar for dry sensitive skin". It is wonderful for rosacea sufferers and performs outstandingly with Rosacea-Ltd III.
The Cetaphil gentle cleansing bar is the one we have
found to be most effective at thoroughly cleansing the skin to remove any traces of dirt, oil,
makeup, leftover sunscreen, or topical treatments applied that if left on the skin too long
can lead to clogged pores and increased pimples.
Simply wet your face with a clean, wet wash cloth to hydrate your skin well. Then using the wash cloth, cleanse with the Cetaphil bar. The wash cloth will act as a gentle exfoliant to help remove all traces of dirt, makeup, and dead skin. Rinse thoroughly with a generous amount of water to hydrate the skin.
After washing the face with Cetaphil, which is a 'moisturizing gentle cleansing bar for dry sensitive skin', place one drop of Jojoba oil in your 'wet hands'. Rub the hands together so that the one drop is equally divided and dispersed over both hands. Apply Jojoba oil with wet hands equally to both sides of a face which is 100% wet. The sensitive or damaged rosacea skin needs small concentrations of Jojoba oil for the following reasons:
I. To help reverse damage to the epidermis caused by harsh soaps, facial washes, and rosacea topical medications.
II. To help replace moisture lost from the use of facial washes and topical medications.
III. To help enhance skin healing (cell division and growth) within the middle layer of the epidermis.
IV. To help penetration of topical Rosacea-Ltd III through the epidermis.
V. To help normalize sebum excretion (related to acne).
VI. To help normalize keratin sloughing off from the dermis (related to acne).
VII. To help normalize the production of inflammatory substances (prostaglandins) in the dermis of the skin.
The importance of Jojoba oil derives from its similarity to the natural restorative oil produced by the sebaceous glands in the dermal layers of the skin. Jojoba oil is non-allergenic and will not clog the pores.
After
3 night time applications, add a morning application, following the same
procedure as for the evening application. Begin with the briefest possible
application, and gradually increase after 3 mornings to 4-8 seconds per
application. The quick Rosacea-Ltd III application process should take
only a few additional seconds after the normal washing or shaving of your
face.
After
seven to ten days, substitute the yellow/white Rosacea-Ltd III application
at night only instead of using the light tan Rosacea-Ltd III and continue
with the tan in the morning. It is more effective and a smaller application
is adequate. Remember to gradually move up from 2-4 seconds per application
to 4-6 seconds.
Of equal importance to the healing of the skin, is to protect the rosacea-sensitive skin from further damage. Keep the skin moist and refreshed by drinking at least 10 glasses of water per day. Increasing the amount of water you drink throughout the day, will help to reduce facial redness, keep the pores from becoming clogged and flush toxins from the body and skin.
You may choose to also apply a moisturizer; we recommend 100% pure jojoba oil. After applying Rosacea-Ltd, wait until the skin has air-dried (10 to 30 minutes) and again apply one drop of jojoba oil into the clean wet hands, rub hands together to disperse the oil and apply to the face. After three weeks we believe you will find a marked improvement to the texture, tone, and condition of your skin, and likewise thereafter. Always use a wash cloth and Cetaphil 'moisturizing gentle cleansing bar for dry sensitive skin' for removing any traces of dirt, pollution, makeup, treatment residues and body oil, etc. upon awaking, after work, and at bedtime to prevent clogged pores.
The above are only a 'general concept.' Individual instructions are almost always different depending on the skin conditions that you tell us about when you place your order.
